WOMADelaide
Four days over the Adelaide Cup long weekend (second Monday of March)
WOMADelaide brings the world's music to Botanic Park for four days over the March long weekend, with seven stages set under century-old plane trees and Moreton Bay figs. Part of the global WOMAD family since 1992, it books artists from dozens of countries alongside talks, workshops and a renowned global food village.
Around 100,000 attendances make it one of the country's major festivals, yet it remains among the most relaxed: families picnic between stages, the KidZone runs all weekend and the park itself does half the atmospheric work. Evening sets under the trees, with lanterns up, are the festival's signature image.
