Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of the AusBus website. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

Read alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

1. Who we are

  • AUSBUS LTD
  • Company number: 14220380
  • Registered address: Business Development Centre, Telford, TF3 3BA, United Kingdom
  • Contact: support@aus-bus.com

The bracketed values above are placeholders to be filled in before launch. AusBus is operated by a UK-incorporated limited company.

2. What AusBus does

AusBus is a comparison and discovery platform for long-distance bus and coach travel in Australia. We help you:

  • Search for routes between Australian cities and towns.
  • See which operators run a route, indicative fares, journey times and amenities.
  • Read route guides covering durations, stops and travel tips.
  • Compare bus pass products.
  • Click through to the operator's own website to book.

We are not a bus or coach operator. We do not run vehicles, sell tickets, hold reservations, take payments, or issue refunds. We do not control operator schedules, prices, availability, accessibility provisions, luggage rules, or service quality.

3. No direct transport contract

Unless something on the page expressly says otherwise, when you book travel after clicking through from AusBus, your contract for the journey is directly with the operator. The operator's terms, fare rules, refund and cancellation policies, luggage and accessibility policies and privacy policy apply. We are not a party to that contract and we are not your agent.

Read the operator's terms before you book. If anything on their site contradicts what you saw on AusBus, the operator's information is the source of truth for the booking.

4. Accuracy of information

We work hard to keep route, fare and operator information accurate, but you should treat what you see on AusBus as indicative rather than guaranteed. Information may be:

  • Cached or estimated.
  • Sourced from publicly available timetables, GTFS feeds, operator websites, or curated catalogues.
  • Out of date relative to the operator's live system.
  • Updated by us between visits without notice.

Fares, schedules, durations, stops, availability, amenities and operator details can change at any time. Always confirm the final details on the operator's website before booking or travelling.

5. How we present results

AusBus does not necessarily show every operator, every route or every fare. The operators we cover are listed on the site and grow over time. The order in which operators or routes appear on a page may depend on factors including price, journey time, directness, popularity, route coverage, data availability, relevance to your search, and commercial relationships.

Affiliate disclosure. When you click an operator booking link and complete a booking on the operator's site, the operator may pay AusBus a referral commission. This does not change the price you pay. We will always show the operator's own listed fare and we do not add booking fees on top.

Where a placement is paid for or sponsored, we will label it as such. We are not currently the official partner of any operator unless the page expressly says so.

Currency display. All fares on AusBus are stored in Australian Dollars (AUD). If you choose a different display currency from the preferences picker, the converted amount you see on AusBus is approximate and is shown for guidance only. The operator's booking page is authoritative for the actual price and currency you will be charged. Operators may charge in AUD regardless of your display currency, and your bank or card issuer may apply its own foreign-exchange rate and fees. AusBus is not responsible for differences between the displayed converted estimate and the price the operator or your card issuer ultimately charges.

6. Your responsibilities

By using AusBus you agree:

  • To use the site lawfully and in good faith.
  • Not to attack, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or otherwise interfere with the site or its infrastructure.
  • Not to submit false, misleading, harmful or unlawful information into any form.
  • Not to use the site to harass, defraud or harm anyone.
  • To check the operator's terms and the accuracy of fares and schedules on the operator's own site before you book or travel.
  • To make travel decisions responsibly, including factoring in connection times, accessibility needs, and changes that operators may make to their services.

7. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers or crawlers to access the site without our written permission, except for compliant search-engine indexing.
  • Bypass, attempt to bypass, or probe security features, rate limits or access controls.
  • Copy, republish, redistribute, sell, sub-license or commercially exploit any AusBus content at scale.
  • Frame, mirror or deep-link in a way that misrepresents AusBus or implies endorsement.
  • Use the site for unlawful activity, including breach of sanctions, fraud, or infringement of third-party rights.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or content designed to interfere with the site or other users.

8. Accounts

AusBus does not currently offer user accounts, logins, profiles or saved trips. You do not need to register to use the site. If we introduce accounts in the future, additional terms will apply and we will tell you about them.

9. Waitlist signup

You can join the AusBus waitlist by submitting your email address. We will use your email to send you one launch announcement and to understand which channel brought you to the site. Joining the waitlist does not create an account or entitle you to any specific service. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.

See our Privacy Policy for details on how waitlist data is handled.

10. Intellectual property

AusBus and its licensors own or license all rights to the site's content, branding, layout, software, route guides, written copy and original imagery. You may use the site for personal travel research. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, redistribute or commercially exploit content without our written permission.

Operator names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We use them descriptively to identify operators and routes. Their use on AusBus does not imply endorsement, agency, or partnership unless expressly stated.

11. Third-party links

The site contains links to operator websites and other third-party sites. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, terms, privacy practices, availability, products or services. Clicking a link takes you outside AusBus and you should review the destination site's own terms.

12. Service availability

We provide AusBus on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, including search results, route guides, operator listings, and waitlist signup. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data on the site will be accurate or current at the time you view it.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AusBus disclaims all warranties (express or implied) about the site and its content, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

AusBus does not warrant that any route, fare, schedule or operator detail shown on the site is current, complete, or accurate at the time you view it. The operator's own website is the source of truth for any booking.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AusBus is not liable for, and excludes liability for:

  • Operator delays, cancellations, schedule changes, fare changes, overbookings or refusal of carriage.
  • Booking failures, payment disputes, refund disputes or chargebacks on the operator's site.
  • Lost luggage, missed connections, inconvenience or out-of-pocket expenses related to travel.
  • Personal injury, property damage or other harm caused by an operator, by another passenger, or by a third party.
  • Inaccurate, out-of-date or unavailable information on the AusBus site.
  • Loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to a nominal amount of one hundred pounds sterling (£100). AusBus is a free service to users — we do not charge booking fees and we do not sell tickets directly — so this cap reflects the absence of any financial relationship between you and AusBus arising from your use of the site.

15. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms affects statutory consumer rights you may have that cannot be excluded by contract.

  • If you are a consumer in Australia, you may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that apply in addition to these terms.
  • If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you may have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer law.
  • If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under your national consumer law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold AusBus harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the site. This clause does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law and does not limit your statutory consumer rights.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to you is the one published at the top of this page on the date you use the site. If we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer laws apply to you (for example, the Australian Consumer Law for Australian consumers). The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms, without prejudice to any mandatory right you may have to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

Note for legal review: AusBus is operated by a UK-incorporated company but the audience is primarily Australian. The default choice of England and Wales should be confirmed alongside the jurisdiction placeholder.

19. Contact us

For any question about these terms, email support@aus-bus.com or write to us at AUSBUS LTD, Business Development Centre, Telford, TF3 3BA, United Kingdom.
