The Melbourne to Adelaide coach route links two of Australia's most liveable cities across 730 km of southern Victoria and South Australia. Firefly Express and V/Line both operate services on this corridor. Firefly's overnight express is particularly popular, departing Melbourne in the evening and arriving in Adelaide by early morning, effectively doubling as accommodation and making it one of the most cost-effective ways to make the crossing. V/Line's daytime services connect Southern Cross Station in Melbourne with Adelaide via regional stops through the Wimmera and into South Australia. The full journey takes around 10 hours on direct services.
