VAILO Adelaide 500
Four days in mid-to-late November
The Adelaide 500 is the loudest weekend on the city's calendar: four days of Supercars racing on a street circuit through the East Parklands, using part of the old Formula 1 Grand Prix track. The concrete-lined layout, with its famous turn-eight sweeper, has a reputation as the toughest street circuit in the championship.
Around 250,000 people attend across the event, which stacks support categories, air displays and headline evening concerts around the racing. The circuit sits walking distance from the CBD's East End, so the event takes over the city in a way few street races anywhere manage.
