Travel tips

What to know before you go.

Morning peak southbound (6am to 9am weekdays) is the worst time to travel: the M1 between Wahroonga and the Harbour Bridge frequently slows the run by 30 to 45 minutes. Book a midday departure if you can. The bus is the most direct option if you are heading to Central Station and connecting onwards to Melbourne or Canberra; the train requires a transfer at Hornsby for many services. Sunday evening services southbound also fill quickly; book ahead during school holidays.
