The route at a glance
The Sydney–Canberra corridor.
The Sydney to Canberra coach route is one of the most frequent interurban bus services in Australia, covering 290 km between the country's largest city and its capital in around three and a half hours. Greyhound Australia, FlixBus and Murrays Coaches all run multiple daily departures, making it easy to fit a visit around work, study or a weekend away. The route climbs through the Southern Highlands before descending into the Australian Capital Territory, with views of the Brindabella Ranges on the approach to Canberra. For city-centre to city-centre travel, the coach is often faster door-to-door than the train and consistently cheaper than flying.
