Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi

Late October to early November (approx. 3 weeks)

Sculpture by the Sea transforms the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk into a free open-air gallery for about three weeks each spring. More than 100 works by Australian and international artists are set against the cliffs, headlands and surf of one of Sydney's most photographed stretches of coast.

It is the largest free sculpture exhibition in the world, drawing around 450,000 visitors. The walk is narrow and the weekend crowds are real, so go on a weekday morning if you can. Wear proper shoes, allow a couple of hours, and take the walk south to north for the best light over Tamarama.
