Yabun Festival
Yabun is the largest one-day gathering and celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in Australia, held each year on 26 January at Victoria Park in Camperdown. Run by and for community since 2001, it marks Survival Day with live music, dance, speakers, panels and stalls.
What to expect
Around 50,000 people attend, and entry is free and open to everyone. The main stage carries a full day of First Nations music, while the speakers' forums engage seriously with the history and politics of the date. It is one of the most significant cultural events on Sydney's calendar, and among the most welcoming.
