City2Surf
Second Sunday of August
City2Surf is the largest fun run in the world, sending around 80,000 people over the 14 kilometres from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach on the second Sunday of August. The course takes in William Street, the harbourside suburbs and the infamous Heartbreak Hill climb at Rose Bay before dropping down to the finish by the sand.
The field spans elite racers chasing records to walkers in costume raising money for charity, and the crowd support along the route is half the event. Entries open months ahead and the race sells out, so plan early if you want a bib rather than a spectating spot.
