Perth Festival

Perth Festival is Australia's longest-running arts festival, founded in 1953, and the city's cultural high summer. For about three weeks from mid-February it stages theatre, dance, music, film and large-scale public works, drawing around 400,000 people across venues and outdoor sites citywide.

What to expect

The festival has a habit of opening with a mass free public event that takes over a landmark, and its Lotterywest Films strand runs outdoor cinema through the summer. February in Perth is hot and dry with long, warm evenings, and the festival's outdoor programming is built precisely for them.
