Kings Park Festival

Throughout September (month-long)

The Kings Park Festival runs through September, when Western Australia's wildflower season turns one of the world's largest inner-city parks into a showcase of the state's flora. Kings Park's 400 hectares above the Swan River host massed displays, guided walks, exhibitions and live music across the month.

WA is home to more than 12,000 wildflower species, most found nowhere else on earth, and the park's Botanic Garden concentrates the best of them. Entry is free, and around 500,000 people visit during the festival month. Weekends add markets and family programming; the views over Perth Water are a permanent fixture.
