The route at a glance
The Stanthorpe–Brisbane corridor.
Stanthorpe to Brisbane runs about 215 kilometres from the Granite Belt down to the Queensland capital. Two operators cover it in quite different ways. Crisps Coaches runs a direct service on weekdays that does the trip in a little over three hours, while Greyhound Australia sells it as a single ticket that involves changing coach at Toowoomba, which takes considerably longer. Stanthorpe sits at around 800 metres in Queensland's coolest corner and is the centre of the state's main wine region, so the corridor carries a steady mix of residents, students and visitors coming down from the Granite Belt.

Travel tips
What to know before you go.
The direct weekday service is both faster and no more expensive than the connecting option, so check it first. Crisps does not run on weekends or public holidays, which is the single most common trap on this corridor: if you are travelling Saturday or Sunday, the direct service is not an option. Coaches arrive at the Brisbane Coach Terminal on Parkland Boulevard, behind Roma Street station. Stanthorpe gets genuinely cold and can drop below freezing overnight in winter, so dress for the departure as well as the arrival.
