The route at a glance
The Murray Bridge–Adelaide corridor.
Murray Bridge to Adelaide is one of South Australia's busiest regional commuter runs, linking the Murraylands river town with the city about 76 kilometres away. LinkSA operates the corridor, climbing the South Eastern Freeway through the Adelaide Hills before dropping into the city, and the trip takes roughly an hour and a half. Services are concentrated on weekday mornings and evenings, which reflects how the route is mostly used: people travelling in to work or study and back again the same day. Weekend services run too, but far less often.

Travel tips
What to know before you go.
Weekday departures cluster early, with several services leaving Murray Bridge before 7am to reach Adelaide for the start of the working day. If you are travelling for an appointment, work backwards from your arrival time rather than assuming a mid-morning option exists. Book ahead where you can, as commuter services fill on Monday mornings and Friday evenings. The freeway descent through the Hills is steep and can be slow in fog or heavy rain, so allow extra time in winter.
