Greyhound, FlixBus and Premier run multiple daily services from Roma Street to Surfers Paradise and Southport, with high-frequency mornings perfect for day-trippers heading to the beach. Con-X-ion also serves the corridor, but only as an airport shuttle from Brisbane Airport to Surfers Paradise, not from the city.

What to know before you go.
Friday afternoons heading south on the M1 are the worst: leaving Brisbane between 4pm and 6pm regularly adds 45 minutes to scheduled times. Book a morning departure if you are heading down for the day and need to catch a return service. Coaches drop at Surfers Paradise transit centre, which is on the G:link light rail line, useful if you are staying further along the strip at Broadbeach or Burleigh. If you are flying out of Gold Coast Airport rather than visiting the city, note that the scheduled coaches all terminate at Surfers Paradise or Southport; Con-X-ion's Gold Coast Airport shuttle links Coolangatta with the Gold Coast suburbs, so plan the last leg from there.

- Multiple services per hour during the day across all operators combined. Greyhound and FlixBus run hourly from Roma Street; Con-X-ion's shuttle runs through the day from Brisbane Airport.
- Surfers Paradise transit centre on Beach Road, with onward connections via the G:link light rail to Broadbeach, Burleigh and Helensvale.
- Fares start from around $18 one-way. Day-return tickets are sometimes cheaper than two singles; check the operator before booking outbound.
- Not on a scheduled coach from the city. Con-X-ion's Brisbane shuttles start at Brisbane Airport, and its Gold Coast Airport shuttle links Coolangatta with the Gold Coast suburbs.
