Magic Millions Carnival

The Magic Millions Carnival pairs one of the world's great thoroughbred yearling sales with a rich race day at the Gold Coast Turf Club in mid-January. The sales complex at Bundall turns over hundreds of young horses across the week, and the raceday's restricted races carry some of the richest purses in Australian racing.

What to expect

The week opens with a signature free spectacle: racehorses galloping along Surfers Paradise beach at the barrier draw. Race day itself draws about 20,000 people in full summer carnival mode. It is the Gold Coast's biggest week of the racing year, and the town leans into it.
