Gold Coast Marathon

First weekend of July (2 days)

The Gold Coast Marathon is Australia's fastest marathon course: flat, sea-level and run in mild midwinter conditions along the coastal strip on the first weekend of July. It regularly produces personal bests and hosts around 30,000 participants across the marathon, half marathon and shorter events over two days.

The course runs along the beachfront highways with the surf in view for long stretches, and the crowd support through Southport, Broadbeach and Burleigh is strong. It is an IAAF-labelled road race that still feels like a community event. Winter on the Gold Coast means sunny days around 21 degrees; near-perfect running weather.
