Melbourne Food & Wine Festival

Ten days in late March

The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is Australia's leading eating and drinking festival, running ten days in late March across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Since 1993 it has built a program around long lunches, masterclasses, hawker-style nights and the World's Longest Lunch, a single table for hundreds set in a landmark location each year.

Around 250,000 people take part. The genius of the program is its range: signature dinners with international chefs sit alongside cheap-eats trails and free public events, so there is an entry point at most budgets. Regional events in the wine districts sell out fastest.
