The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park is one of the sport's classic street events, run on a fast parkland circuit around a lake five kilometres from Melbourne's CBD. Albert Park has hosted the race since 1996 and regularly opens the world championship season, with around 450,000 attendances across the four days making it one of the best-attended events on the F1 calendar.

The program stacks Formula 2, Formula 3, Supercars and historic racing around the main event, so there is track action from morning to evening every day. General admission mounds give genuine views of the racing, trams run straight to the gates, and Thursday and Friday are the affordable way to see the cars up close.
