Royal Canberra Show
Last weekend of February (3 days)
The Royal Canberra Show closes February with three days of agriculture, equestrian competition, rides and fireworks at Exhibition Park. It is the capital's traditional country show, drawing around 60,000 people for livestock judging, the animal nursery, district produce, showbags and evening arena entertainment.
The show has run in various forms since the 1920s and keeps a genuine rural character: the surrounding districts still bring their cattle, horses, fleeces and produce to compete. It is a comfortable single-day outing at a friendlier scale than the capital-city royals, with late-summer Canberra weather usually cooperating.
