Travel tips

What to know before you go.

For most travellers the South Coast Line train is the better choice on this corridor; it runs every 30 minutes and stops at Bondi Junction, Central, Sutherland, and the full Illawarra coast. The bus wins if you are starting near Central Coach Terminal, want to avoid the train change at Sutherland, or are connecting onwards from a longer NSW TrainLink service. Friday evening southbound from Sydney can be slow; both the train and the motorway congest in the 4pm to 6pm window. The Bald Hill lookout above Stanwell Park is one of the best views on this corridor; the bus passes it on the M1 if you are seated on the right-hand side.
