Mildura is the commercial centre of Sunraysia, and the coach is the scheduled public transport link for people travelling up to Broken Hill and the outback country beyond it. Departures are in the afternoon, arriving in Broken Hill in the evening. Note that Broken Hill runs on Central Standard Time, half an hour behind Victoria, so you gain half an hour on the way north.

Travel tips
What to know before you go.
With only two services a week, book well ahead and treat the departure time as fixed. The two weekly runs take different roads, one more direct and one via Menindee and Pooncarie, so check which one you are on if you have a stop in mind along the way. Arriving in Broken Hill in the evening limits onward connections that day, so arrange accommodation before you travel rather than on arrival. Mobile coverage is patchy across this stretch, so download anything you need before you leave.
