Broken Hill to Mildura crosses about 296 kilometres of far western New South Wales to the Murray River, and NSW TrainLink runs it as a road coach twice a week rather than daily. It is one of the more remote scheduled coach corridors in the country, and the service exists to connect Broken Hill with the Sunraysia region and its hospital, shops and airport. Twice a week means a missed coach costs you days, not hours, so book ahead and arrive early. The two weekly services do not follow the same road: one runs more directly through Wentworth, the other takes a longer inland route through Menindee and Pooncarie, which is slower but serves communities with almost no other public transport. Confirm which service you are booked on if the route matters to you. Bookings are made through NSW TrainLink rather than at the roadside, and some stops are pick-up by arrangement only, so do not assume you can flag the coach down.
