Travel tips
What to know before you go.
If you are heading further north, hop-on hop-off passes from Greyhound or Premier let you stop at Hervey Bay (Fraser Island) and Bundaberg without paying separately. The Brisbane departure is Roma Street Coach Terminal; Rockhampton arrival is the Mount Morgan Road terminal on the southern edge of the city. Cyclone season (November to April) can disrupt the Bruce Highway in central Queensland; build flexibility into your itinerary in those months. Window seats on the right-hand side give you ocean views between Maryborough and Gladstone.
