Tulip Time Bowral

Tulip Time is the Southern Highlands' signature spring festival and one of the oldest floral festivals in Australia, running about two weeks from mid-September. Corbett Gardens in the centre of Bowral is planted with around 75,000 tulips in massed display beds, backed by a program of music and garden events across the town.

What to expect

It is an easy, gentle festival: an hour or two in the gardens, then the Highlands' cafes, bookshops and cool-climate gardens fill the rest of the day. Spring weather at 700 metres can swing from sun to drizzle, so bring a layer. Weekdays are noticeably quieter than weekends.
