Truffle Kerfuffle
Truffle Kerfuffle celebrates the black truffle harvest in Manjimup, the southern-forests town that grows most of Australia's truffles. Over the last weekend of June, around 5,000 people join truffle hunts with trained dogs, masterclasses with visiting chefs and a producers' village of southern WA food and wine.
What to expect
The festival is deliberately small and food-obsessed, set among karri country three and a half hours south of Perth. Winter is truffle season, so expect cold mornings, wood smoke and menus built around the fungus at its freshest. Tickets to the hunts and masterclasses sell out well ahead.
