Ord Valley Muster

Ten days in mid-to-late May

The Ord Valley Muster is the East Kimberley's signature festival: ten days each May in and around Kununurra, mixing long-table dinners, rodeo, races, concerts and events out on the water. It closes with a headline concert under the stars on the banks of the Ord, one of the most remote major-event settings in Australia.

Around 10,000 people attend, timed for the start of the dry season when the Kimberley is green from the wet but the skies have cleared. Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungles and El Questro sit within reach, so most visitors build a full Kimberley itinerary around the festival.
