Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival
The Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival has run in the Adelaide Hills since 1876, and its Easter Saturday and Easter Monday meetings long carried the title of the greatest picnic race meeting in the world. Crowds spread across the infield and hillside with rugs and marquees, a country race-day tradition kept intact.
What to expect
Around 25,000 people attend across the two days, with the autumn hills as the backdrop and a full family program beside the racing. It is an easy, old-fashioned day out: bring a picnic or buy from the stalls, watch the fields over the famous fences, and let the Easter weekend slow down around you.
