Grampians Grape Escape
Grampians Grape Escape is western Victoria's biggest food and wine festival, held on the first weekend of May at Halls Gap, directly beneath the sandstone ramparts of the Grampians. Around 10,000 people come for two days of regional wine, produce, masterclasses and live music in one of the state's most dramatic settings.
What to expect
The Grampians region grows serious shiraz and sparkling shiraz, and the festival gathers its wineries and producers in one paddock. May brings cool, clear walking weather, so most visitors pair the festival with the national park's lookouts and trails. Accommodation in Halls Gap books out well ahead.
