Garma Festival
Garma is Australia's most significant Indigenous gathering: four days of ceremony, forums and cultural exchange hosted by the Yothu Yindi Foundation at Gulkula, a ceremonial site on the Gove Peninsula in northeast Arnhem Land. Each evening's bunggul, the traditional dance under the stringybarks at sunset, is its heart.
What to expect
Attendance is capped at about 2,500 ticketed guests who camp on site, among them the country's political and corporate leadership: Garma's Key Forum has become the national stage for Indigenous policy debate. It is remote, deliberate and unlike any other event in the country.

Getting there
Garma is a remote, ticketed event on the Gove Peninsula, reached by air into Gove Airport. No coach services operate in northeast Arnhem Land.
