Cairns Indigenous Art Fair

Around 40,000 people attend the exhibitions, art market, fashion performances and talks across the Cairns Convention Centre and city precincts.

What to expect

CIAF's founding purpose is ethical trade: art is bought directly from artists and community-owned art centres, with the money returning to the communities that made it. The Torres Strait's printmakers and the Cape's weavers and painters give the fair a character found nowhere else in the country. July is Cairns's dry-season best.
