Byron Bay Bluesfest
Easter long weekend (5 days, Thursday to Monday)
Bluesfest is Australia's premier blues and roots festival, staged over the five days of the Easter long weekend at the Byron Events Farm at Tyagarah, just north of Byron Bay. Since 1990 it has hosted a who's who of international music, from BB King and Bob Dylan to Paul Simon, alongside the best Australian roots acts.
Around 100,000 attendances make it one of the country's major music events, with multiple stages under big tops and camping on site. The festival village runs its own food and market economy, and Byron itself hums all weekend. Tickets and local accommodation both sell early.
