Repco Bathurst 1000

Second weekend of October (4 days, race on Sunday)

The Bathurst 1000 is the biggest race in Australian motorsport: 161 laps and 1,000 kilometres of the Mount Panorama circuit on the second weekend of October. The mountain's 174-metre elevation change, concrete walls and 300 km/h straights make it one of the great touring-car circuits in the world.

Around 200,000 fans attend across the four days, many camping on the mountain itself in a tradition as famous as the race. The Sunday race rewards a full day trackside: start on the main straight, then work your way to the top of the mountain across the afternoon. Accommodation in Bathurst books out close to a year ahead.
