Travel tips

What to know before you go.

Wet season (November to April) regularly closes the Kimberley to coach traffic: services may be cancelled or rerouted via Alice Springs and Stuart Highway, adding more than a day. Travel between May and October if you have any flexibility. Kununurra is the natural break-point; the surrounding Lake Argyle, El Questro and Bungle Bungle Range are some of the best of the Kimberley. Greyhound's WA Outback pass is the best value option if you are continuing south to Perth from Broome. Download offline content before you board; the Kimberley has long stretches with no signal.
